01 — Why BESSON

From analysis to action, all the way to results.

BESSON supports and advises management teams, companies, boards and lenders on six fronts: value chain and S&OP, business cases and investments, transformation and cost reduction, AI-augmented decision support, execution alignment, and fund administration and distribution.

Every mandate is led by a seasoned professional, from diagnostic to measurable result, with no hand-off to a junior team. You get quantified decisions, a sequenced plan with owners, and gains tracked through to the P&L.

An executive-led model

An executive-led model that connects decisions, planning and execution to support management teams, boards and lenders facing complex operational or financial situations.

02 —

Three practices, one method

Performance and planning, financial restructuring, class action administration. The same rigour throughout: a quantified baseline, value at stake, governance and execution cadence, contracts and protocols drafted with legal counsel.

03 —

02 — Service lines

Six service lines. One way of working.

Integrated value chain optimization

S&OP design and end-to-end value chain improvement, from supply to customer, across short, medium and long-term horizons.

▸ Typical situationProduction, inventory and sales plans don't reconcile; commercial commitments exceed what operations can deliver.

Business cases & investment support

Feasibility studies, scenario analysis and investment decision support in capital-intensive environments.

▸ Typical situationAn investment decision rests on a single scenario, untested price assumptions or a technical case never stress-tested financially.

Transformation & operational performance

Turning priorities into measurable results, execution discipline and tangible P&L impact.

▸ Typical situationCosts have drifted beyond plan; the initiative portfolio is long, but the P&L hasn't moved.

AI-augmented decision support

Advanced modelling, analytics and AI-built tools, deployed as practical levers for decision quality and speed of execution.

▸ Typical situationData is everywhere, but decisions are still made on spreadsheets; pilots never reach operational cadence.

Execution alignment

Closing the gap between leadership intent, operating plans, frontline execution and measurable results.

▸ Typical situationStrategy is clear at the top but invisible on the ground; KPIs don't cascade; meetings look backward.

Fund administration and distribution

Class actions, settlements and other funds to be distributed. Complete, independent management: claims intake and validation, amount calculations, payments, reconciliations, bilingual communications and reporting. Senior expertise also available to support Big Four firm teams.

▸ Typical situationA fund must be paid out to a large number of beneficiaries; it requires an independent administrator, with rigorous financial controls and traceability of every dollar.

03 — The BESSON approach

Diagnose, align, execute, sustain.

Every mandate follows the same thread: Decisions → Planning → Execution → Results. The person who scopes the work is the one who delivers it.

  1. 1 Phase 01

    Diagnose

Clarify the value at stake and key priorities. Data, interviews, site visits, baseline.

  2. 2 Phase 02

    Align

Align leadership on decisions and scope. One agreed set of priorities, owners and targets.

  3. 3 Phase 03

    Execute

Translate priorities into governance and KPIs. Work the plan with the teams, every week.

  4. 4 Phase 04

    Sustain

Embed a practical operating cadence. Transfer capability, not dependency.

  • Fact-based and quantified. Every priority carries a value at stake, an owner and a date.
  • From leadership to the front line. A plan approved by leadership and executed by the teams.
  • Decisions before tools. Process and governance first; software follows.
  • Capability stays with the client. Success is measured after the advisor leaves.
  • Bilingual, confidential, independent. French and English, on site or remote, with no vendor affiliation.
  • Financial traceability. Every figure and every payment ties back to its source.
04 — Engagement formats

The format that fits the question.

Every mandate is defined in writing, led by the principal and reviewed against the value at stake agreed during the diagnostic.

01 · 4 — 6 weeks

Diagnostic sprint

Value at stake, maturity assessment and sequenced roadmap. Fixed scope.

02 · 3 — 6 months

Advisory mandate

Design and implementation of one or more service lines, on site and remote.

03 · Part time

Fractional leadership

Part-time lead for planning, finance or transformation during a transition. Full ownership of a function, a project or teams.

04 · 1 — 2 daysLeadership workshopAlign a leadership team on a decision, a plan or an operating model.
05 · Before approvalIndependent reviewSecond opinion on a business case, a study or a platform choice.
06 · EmbeddedRetained expertSenior resource embedded in an advisory firm's team, currently one of the Big Four.
07 · End to endFund administratorFrom claims intake to the final distribution report.

05 — Founder and principal

Twenty years as an operator, now serving organizations independently.

Patrice Besson spent twenty years within a major international industrial group doing exactly this translation: multi-site S&OP, a $1B cost base, $100M contracts, a $5–7B investment decision, plant commissioning. He has held planning, finance and technical roles, which lets his advice connect all three.

We work with organizations committed to improving their performance, and who expect the same commitment to results from their advisors.
